This Sunday I'll be offering a live online class all about herbal percolations for my Patreon supporters. We'll be going over making perc bottles, weight to volume ratios, setting up, and running a percolation. If you've never done a percolation before, I'll walk you through the process and answer all your questions.
Making tinctures by percolation allows us to have a finished tincture, with consistent strength, in only 2 days (versus the 4 to 6 weeks we wait for tinctures by maceration).
To get access and join me on Sunday, you can sign up for my Herbalist's Journal at any level (levels start at just $3 a month). In addition to the class, you'll get new monthly content about herbal medicine making, harvesting, formulation, and more. My goal with this offering is to give you regular inspiration for your own herbal practice.
At the Archangel level, you'll receive one post a month from my journal.
At the Coltsfoot level, you'll receive 3 to 4 monthly posts.
At the Lobelia level, you get all posts, plus a monograph on one herb each month.
And at my new Rose level, you get all this, plus access to live and recorded classes several times a year!
9-month Folk Herbalism online course
In other news… I will once again be offering my 9-month Folk Herbalism course as an online course this year. There will be an option for local folks to supplement the course with live plant walks and medicine demos as conditions allow.
I love teaching in-person classes, and I think it is especially useful with herbalism. We gain so much from the visceral experience of interacting with the plant medicine using our senses. But I don’t think we are quite ready to go back to in-person classes, as much as I would love to.
This is a great opportunity to take my foundations course even if you don’t live close by. The course was designed to walk you through the growing season, bringing in plants when they are ready to harvest, as well as teach you basic medicine-making techniques. I’ll have all the details in my next newsletter, so stay tuned.
In good medicine,
April
